Info: Acacia is a native species of North America and was introduced to Europe around the 17th century. It is a medium-sized deciduous tree, 20-25 meters tall, and blooms in the Spring from April to May. There are about 1,300 species of acacia and in Greece very few of them thrive. Its characteristic is that it grows in loose, deep, and fresh soils, but its adaptability is excellent, and it can "take hold" even in very poor and dry soils. It is a beautiful tree and thanks to its ease of growth and its resistance to pruning, it has earned its place in parks as an ornamental tree.
