Suar wood is the wood of the Albizia Saman tree, sometimes called the Rain tree, a tree native to South America. This tree was introduced to Indonesia as a plantation tree. It is a beautiful well-formed wood, with plenty of cross-grain. The "heart" of the wood is close to the color of walnut, while the rest of the body of the wood is lighter in color.
