Suar wood is the wood of the Albizia Saman tree, sometimes called the Rain tree, a tree native to South America. This tree was introduced to Indonesia as a plantation tree. Each piece of Suar wood, like each snowflake, is unique. The graining of the wood can vary greatly, making one piece appear more desirable to one customer than another.
It has overtaken mahogany for furniture made in Indonesia due to the tree's rapid growth.
Properly dried, suar wood is very strong and durable.

MAINTENANCE:
The fact that SUAR is included in hardwoods makes it very easy to maintain. All it needs is a dusting and when necessary, a cleaning with a damp cloth.
